This setting allows you to specify the period of time the system will wait before timing out broadcast name queries.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new string value (or DWORD for Windows 95) called "BcastQueryTimeout", and set it to equal the period of time in milliseconds (minimum 100).

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Settings:

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Name: BcastQueryTimeout
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: Time in milliseconds (Default =750)
